Penn classification in acute aortic dissection patients.
OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the Penn classification in predicting in-hospital mortality after surgery in acute type A aortic dissection patients. METHODS We evaluated 58 patients (42 men and 16 women; mean age 62.17 ± 10.6 years) who underwent emergency surgery for acute type A aortic dissection between September 2003 and June 2010 in our departm...
متن کامل“lag” a new classification system for concealed mineral exploration
lag is a general term applied to coarse grained (> 2 mm), hard, but partially weathered rockfragments, which are concentrated at the surface through attrition of finer materials. based on morphology, mineralogy and the origin of lag from the cobar region of australia, lag may be conveniently grouped intothree broad morpho-mineralogical categories; (a) those with a rough, blocky, lithic morpholog...
متن کاملA Rare Case of Severe Aortic Regurgitation with Silent Ascending Aortic Dissection
Classically, ascending aortic dissection (AD) presents as sudden, severe chest pain that is tearing type and radiates to the back. Herein, we present a rare case of severe aortic regurgitation with silent ascending AD, which had no chest pain symptoms. The aortic valve apparatus probably masked this AD; therefore, it was not detected by echocardiography and during the surgery.
متن کاملa simple emergency prediction tool for acute aortic dissection.
a simple emergency risk prediction tool should be developed for clinicians to quickly identify the prognosis of patients with acute aortic dissection.we enrolled 280 patients with acute aortic dissection admitted to emergency department between may 2010 and february 2013. multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to identify independent predictors of in-hospital death.the in-hospi...
متن کاملA new vascular ring connector in surgery for aortic dissection.
OBJECTIVE To improve the surgical results of aortic dissection, we used a novel vascular ring connector for anastomosis. METHODS The vascular ring connector is a titanic ring used as a stent in the vascular graft to achieve a quick, blood-sealed, and sutureless anastomosis. From November 2007 to December 2008, 19 consecutive patients (age range 36-77 years; 16 male and 3 female) with aortic d...
